Established in 1995 by
beginning in foster parent training, we are a Christian Home dedicated
to providing a stable, Christian environment with unconditional love
for young girls who, for one reason or another, cannot live with
their parents our guardians.
Most of our girls have had traumatic
experiences in their young life and desire healing from the ravages
of physical or mental abuse, rape, incest,
abandonment, mutilation, molestation, cults, drugs or alcohol; some
are suffering the strongholds of insolence, discipline or
disrespect.
Our home has
no maximum time limit and the girls may stay with us for as long as they
need and desire to and we have space available. While we have no
limit we do, however, require a
minimum stay of eighteen (18) months.
We manage our home as a business
by a Court approved Managing Conservator Agreement and while our
Home has no charge for the girl's stay other than modest educational
costs, the Court may require monthly child support based upon each
family's income and expenses. In view of the nature of our ministry,
a reduced tuition is charged by the Christian school. We are not
funded by any government entity, which allows Jesus Christ to be
present as the Healer to our girls. Therefore we rely on God's
provisions for our needs through donations from caring individuals,
churches, foundations and corporations.
We operate the Home on 3
beautifully wooded acres in the Post Oak Savannah in eastern Guadalupe County
with space to add another home,
advancing our Vision to operate several homes on about 20 acres staffed with Christian, God-given parents.
We desire to immerse our girls
in Christianity, thereby allowing God's healing grace to minister
to them. We enroll the girls into a Christian School for their
formal
educational needs as we believe that the girls have experienced too
much of life and would fall into harmful influences at a public school.
For those girls who show the aptitude and desire to attend a college
or university for further educational studies and/or athletic
competition, we have been able to provide full or partial
scholarships through individuals and organizations.

God took hold of me He did a real big clean up job... He took
me from my old self and made me new in Him" - Resident |
We offer
counseling through a Christian counselor. All our girls are
encouraged to attend counseling sessions when they first arrive and
frequently thereafter as the need arises. Because of the trauma they
have experienced and the habits they have developed, the girls have
developed countless strongholds that will continue to hinder their
ability to form lasting relationships, mental stability and a sense
of self worth and confidence.
Recreation and sports
contribute to the physical development of the girls. The girls we
serve usually come from families or facilities where physical nurturing
and developmental activities are lacking and diet is usually poor.
Physical development is part of our overall strategy. It allows for
discovery of and development of the individual person. Our girls begin
to encounter what their abilities are as well as their limitations.
Through the strategy including roller-blading, volleyball, basketball,
cheerleading, bowling, etc., they gain strength, self-accomplishment
and confidence development. Additionally they develop a sense of competency
and camaraderie with others on a team.
As we continue
to grow we will staff our homes with like-minded Christian families
in each home. These families will have a special calling to this ministry
and a real burden for our girls. Each family will be responsible for
their finances just as we and most other missionaries.
We believe
that our home provides a unique ministry to young girls throughout
Texas and America. It is meeting the ever increasing need in today’s
society for a Christian home environment to deal with the very real problem of abuse and its
effect on the lives of young girls. |
